I've been whining about people calling me Heartless lately... but something more interesting than being called heartless happened yesterday...

An officemate actually questioned my faith... he actually asked if I was catholic, it's a simple question that wouldn't offend me... but if you question my religion because I listen to a certain kind of music is absolutely insulting, even if it wasn't much of a serious question... It is a NOT-SO-INNOCENT type of question!

Malice...

I could probably take all of Johann's efforts trying to prove how Heartless I am, which actually brings forth new terms like "Ice queen". I know that there are times that I'm heartless or spiteful (like now...), that there are times that require some tears but there are no tears... so on and so forth blah blah blah... But this was the worst label I've ever got...

Satanic B*tch

For a person, who had to sneak out of the house during weekends just to hear mass, to be considered satanic...

Yes I'm mad and i was really offended...

you can't generalize my type of music...

I guess most of the people reading my blog knows what kind of music I listen to and yes I live with satan in a house called hell... but that doesn't make me satanic... I don't worship satan.

I can never say that there are no Satanic rock music, but not ALL are satanic... even the culture of the people who listen to Rock are as diverse as any other culture of people who listen to other genres. No one can even say that because you listen to Satanic music from satanic band, you're satanic... It's stupid to think that way...

Why?
Why do I listen to rock... I'm actually amazed by the range of the skills and talent rockers have... No singer can actually sing and howl and then sing... I've actually heard so many vocalists from Rock bands who are even better than the sissy music singers..  (Spiteful mode: True;). How many famous guitarists can you name that are not from rock bands or not influenced by rock? There's Steve Vie, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Mamlsteen, Hendrix, Clapton, Flea, John Myung, Jason Newsted, Eric Johnson, even Santana... The person who called me satanic does not have the right to slap some labels on my name until he can find some poppish guy who can surpass these guitarists... considering the complexity of the music these people have to play... as for drums... complexity of the music... although there are some really difficult african Tribal Music used for some other things... so you're gonna call it Satanic as well?

Sux... I don't feel like writing anymore...

if you think about it, what labels rock as satanic anyway? because it's loud? because they project a certain image?

para sa akin, lahat ng genre may evilness about it. i mean, "satanic" or demonic music would be something that would induce you to sin... tingnan mo pa lang hiphop, with it's prevalent view of women as bitches and hos... tingnan mo pop, with singers making music videos just a notch above softcore porn... mas worse nga yun eh kasi that view is unapologetic. it's like, you're desensitizing people to that. you're making it a norm. and isn't that how the devil works -- by tempting you with something you can't resist. by making little kids dress up like they're hookers? by teaching boys at such a young age that guns are good, that mistreatment of women is good. that the street cred they gain through violence and crime is a good thing???? you tell me.

i like that kind of music but hello, you've got to read between the lines to see that it's also offensive, morally and spiritually. lahat naman ng bagay kayang ipasama eh.

whoever said that to you is awful... or really ignorant. sometimes people really need a reality check before they make comments like that.

yeah, i agree with dysphasic on this. ayaw ko na ulitin yung sinulat nya, but i'd like to add something to that.

i really couldn't care less about genre. ROCK. HIPHOP. POP. JAZZ. FUNK. FOLK. it's all the same. it's music.

you take away the images (blacks for hiphop, blondes for pop, tattoed people for rock), the colours, the freaking videos. you take away the lifestyle, the language. what matters is you like what you hear. you don't even have to be able to classify or even understand it to appreciate it. you don't have to follow the lifestyle to experience it. music doesn't have to separate people, it's supposed to be a language we can all understand.

do re mi fa so la ti do. gawin mong sharp, flat, natural, major, minor, augmented, diminished, or whatever, music parin yan. the same notes make up all these songs. from metallica to beethoven to britney to snoop dogg to kurt cobain to frank sinatra to the beatles.

so i vote for really ignorant. the person who said that to you doesn't know what he is talking about. don't be too affected ekai. mas nakakwalan ng respeto ang mga taong ganyan kasi simpleng bagay lang di nila maintindihan. masyadong sarado ang utak.

actually kinakausap ko pa naman yung tao... Apparently yung mga people sa kabilang cube na offend din... even though hindi sila rocker... kinausap ako ng isang tao dun... hindi ko lang na kwento na sinundan ng guy yung tanong nya ng articles sa office EMAIL ko about Rock being Satanic...

Anyways, I’m sorry kung naoffend ko kayo on the things na sinabi ko but here is my take on it…

Everyone has their opinion on rock music. I never say that rock is evil but for me HEAVY ROCK and lyrics
that are clearly emphasizing worshipping “Satan” is not my thing.

As for the articles that I’ve sent to you, these comes from a very conservative site so everything for them is
illegal or evil, but one thing I got from it is that if kayang iwasan, iwasan. I can’t say that everything na
sinabi nya maniniwala ako but some things are true, some things are false but whether it is true or not, kung
kayang iwasan e d iwasan. Hehehe

Anyways, that’s it for me…
